thats the 15"Well, looks like I'm wrong
The front page has a news story of what may be coming out as a speed bump
if this rumor is true there will only be a ram upgrade for the base 15".Upon re-reading the article I do see that 13 inch is included in the article - however would this update be worth the exchange and the 1 hour drive to the apple store?
I have the mid level rmbp 13inch

The i5 mba 2014 refresh. When Apple updates one size they usually also upde the other sizes as well. The only exception to this that springs to mind was when Apple's "Pro" laptops went unibody in 2008/2009 and the 17" lagged behind. However I can't recall ever seeing a refresh only hit one size.

The higher clock speed on the 13" would only drain the battery quicker.
you have a good point there. There will be a negligible difference in battery life (both are 28w chips). In some cases having a faster CPU will extend battery life as the CPU will complete the task faster and quickly go to idle state ie "race to idle".

Both the baseline 11" and 13" models got the 100MHz spec bump and i7 models were included in the across-the-board $100 price reduction. The i5 mba 2014 refresh.
I will be a 200mhz speed bump. 2.4->2.6ghz. So approximately 8% faster. It is up to you to decide if it is worth it or not.
Do we think the 13 inch options will all have 16gb of RAM?
I personally doubt it. I would expect the base model to be bumped up to 8 from the current 4 however.
So what do you think the midlevel 13inch will be.
