I’m on Verizon with a XR. Got it six months after release so can’t really upgrade now. But at the time, I traded in a 6 for a good price and there were no strings attached. No new line. No change to data plan.

Are those days over? I don’t need a new line and I certainly don’t need unlimited data. I’m afraid they’re sneakily trying to screw some customers over who just want a new phone. I have six months to really see what they’re doing. Just thought I’d ask.

Thoughts?

What are you paying per month for your current plan?

I just switched to Verizon unlimited plan and I’m paying less a month now than before when I was on the 16 gig a month plan. But they said it was because I have been with them for 20 years

I think it’s about $111 per month. My XR only cost around $380 after the trade-in deal, but the account says I still owe the balance of the full $749, which is $249. That part doesn’t make sense since I’ve practically paid off the $380.

That monthly bill also includes my mom’s new SE. We’re the only two on the account and have the 2GB data plan combined with a bunch of rollover data. We’re both pretty much always on wifi.

It‘s all very confusing to me.

looks like Verizon are pushing unlimited hard compared to last year.
I'm on the verizon 10gb shared plan. I will wait for black friday deals to see if they require unlimited.
I'm also not in a rush and willing to jump to tmobile/att.
