I use to buy the 3 year plans but now it looks like it's annual and 15% a year of purchase price. Seems a bit of a bad deal. Anything else out there?

Just do a Google search for Applecare alternatives. It isn't 2012 anymore, there's way more available.

I self insure, depositing a small amount in a separate account each month. Now just over four years later it’s a rather substantial amount. More than enough to purchase a new iPhone Pro Max.

It’s satisfying to not be paying a company for “insurance” knowing a deductible is something I’ll never have to pay. In addition if I continue to not have a need to use it, the total amount just keeps growing.

I've used it twice on my 15pro so feels like it's worth it. Not sure anymore. This seems a little extreme now.
