I want to sell my iPhone 3G on eBay and noticed that sellers willing to ship overseas get $50 more than those who dont.

So are there precautions I need to take so I dont get ripped off?

I will only ship to Paypal verified buyer.

yup ... don't do it

Yeah, nice one mate.

If you'll be accepting payment through PayPal only then there's not much you'll have to worry about. Once you get the confirmation that the item has been paid for, bubble wrap it pop it into the box and send away. Well there's one only thing that might concern you. Some, might ask you to post the parcel as a gift of the total value below certain amount (Differs from country to country, me thinks. UK is below £36 but I'm not sure), this way they'll avoid paying Custom Duty. But this is up to you and you decide whether you wanna do it or not.

Hope this helps mate.

just read through the experiences of people who sell high price items on ebay, especially to people outside of the US. The chance of being scammed is exponentially higher.

Personally I would sell on craigslist>Ebay (US only + Ebay fees blow).

Extra $50 is definitely not worth it.

Sell only to customers within the US, the UK and Canada. These are the only countries that are protected under the PayPal Sellers Protection Policy.

Any other country and you won't be covered. call and ask if you don't believe me. I am a seller on ebay and these are the only countries I will ship to now.

Agreed. Local sale for cash is least risky.
