Are there settings that could keep Apple Pencil from working?

Got an Apple Pencil 2 from someone on here in exc condition. My iPP (yes, it’s a 2020 iPP, so it is the correct pencil) recognizes it’s there when charging, it shows up in my Bluetooth, etc., but it will NOT work anywhere I’ve tried. I’ve looked at settings and don’t appear to be missing anything, but I guess I’m not sure if there is somewhere else I could have a setting messed up that I’m not seeing.

Any ideas?

Make sure the nib (tip) of the Apple Pencil is on securely and not loose.

Reboot your iPad. A lot of times, this solves the problem.

If the first two don't solve the problem, try re-pairing the pencil.

If all else fails, contact Apple.

Well I think it’s something with my iPad because my Logitech crayon won’t work either. Chatting with Apple now.

Just now unpaired, and then paired with my daughter’s iPP, and it won’t work on hers either. So strange.

I dropped mine and the tip got squashed some. Didn’t respond well until I replaced the tip then worked better.
