I accidentally left my groceries in a hot car for a couple of hours, including 2 packages of frozen vegetables and a package of hot dogs. The vegetables packages are predictably un-frozen but but still cold to the touch, so I assume I can re-freeze them without a problem. The hot dogs warmed to approximately room temperature (they were sitting on the veggies, which seems to have kept them cool on one side). Are they still safe to eat, do you think, or should I throw them out?

Sure :) Enjoy!

The veggies can be re-frozen assuming they wern't above 4 degrees celcius (40 F). And the hot dogs will be safe assuming they were returned to 4C/40F within 4 hours.

Source: Food handlers safety courses I took a couple years back.

Edit: Make sure the hotdogs are thoroughly cooked, however before eating them as there could be a few bacteria from sitting in the car. No raw weiners :p

If you have to ask the answer is always no!

lol i like that however watch this. In reply to your remark I could simply ask

"Oh really, is that true?" thus I have needed to ask in which case you would say No because I had to ask in the first place meaning the original question the thread starter asked would then become a yes.

trolol
