I'm sitting in a place where the temperature is about 30/31 degree celsius. The laptop may not be hot, but it feels very hot, specially compared to my old i3 7th Gen HP Laptop. That thing was cool as heck all the time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. (-: Thanks!

That's actually pretty cool, no problem with temps there. My M1 MBA gets over 100c at times. and with normal working it's well over 60c. Remember it has no fans at all...

Thanks a lot, mate! I was just worried cause my old laptops after about 2012, never felt so hot to touch. I just checked with the temperature checker. The hottest place is about 104f/40c.

Can you please also tell me the main indicators here? The names are confusing tbh. I can't figure out all the soc and gpu elements here.

I don't use that particular app for temps, so i can't really say. Others know more about it than I do.

You might try closing the tabs on your browsers one by one until you find the one causing the most heat. Other than virtual machines, which is what I use, browsers can be the biggest processor hogs and it depends on what pages its serving. (especially if Chrome is the browser)

What do you mean „feels hot“? Like to the touch?
Yes. To the touch, it feels very warm..quite hot actually. The keyboard and the place where my palm rests. Also, the place where the touchbar would have been if it were a Pro.

Alright. I'd do that.

Do you have a usggestion for any other app, which is more simpler and maybe more functional too?

Ah well, it’s a passively cooled laptop, made of hear-conductive metal at that. Even at your body temperature a sheet of aluminum will feel very warm to the touch. There is nothing concerning about it. I bet your old HP was made of plastic, those things just don’t feel that warm.

Haha. Thanks a lot, bud! I feel more safe about the laptop's life now. That was the only concerning thing.

And you're right, I just read about the macbooks body are made from alumium, it feels warmer because it's much more efficient at moving around heat, thus, cooling.

If you're using an infrared thermometer to check the surface.... depending on where you are pointing it, shiny surfaces will always read a lot cooler than it really is....

My M1 Air temp sensor readings are quite cooler than yours, while my indoor temp is 27 degree according to the nearest thermometer in the premise. Granted I was only using it for light browsing today, but it seems to me there is something about your location or the specific position the MacBook sits in that isn't losing heat enough?

Now, these are some good looking numbers. I've since yesterday moved into a little cooler environment, a difference of 2 degree celsius maybe. 28c. Right around yours.

I'm still using the same 4 browers with 3/4 tabs, whatsapp, and discord. And these are my new temps. You can notice that the SOC and aACC temps are still far higher than yours. 8-10 celcius. Something seems off!

What app are you using in those screenshots?

Thanks!
Hello. I was using something called iStat Menus.

I have uninstalled it though, cause they're trying to take information from all the sensors all the time. So, it impacts the battery life.
