What's the national report? Are people seeing them yet?

I called my local apple store (portland, maine) and he said they are getting them in tomorrow. I'm to impatient to wait another 24 hours to get my MBP ;)

Just got back from my Rochester, NY, USA Apple store and they won't have them until tomorrow.

I was soooo ready to walk out of there with a new macbook:(

17"

I am looking to buy a 17", 2.6 GHz, 320GB 7400 RPM drive and his-res monitor. I can bring this config up in the Apple store but will this 17" config be available at retail stores? Thanks for any info you may have.

Just called the Clarendon VA store. They said they are in stock but not on display yet.

Usually, if it's custom, you have to order online. Except for the RAM, they can do that right there if they have it in stock.

Exchange

I bought a 17" MacPro on 10/3 (didn't know of the new ones coming out). So I am out on the larger 320GB drive (I have 200GB) and better graphics card/chip. I am within my 2 week window. Will Apple let me return it (it is open) to purchase a new one without paying the 10% restock fee? I seem to recall reading somewhere that they don't charge the 10% if your exchanging for a new model within the 2 week window. Thanks in advance.

Usually there is a restocking fee if it's open. You can return it within 2 weeks though. They do allow that. But if you paid that much already, what's 10% more?

I called my store -- Portland -- and they said try around 2pm. So I went to the store at 2pm and they were sold out of the 2.5's -- which is what I wanted. Apparently they sold out within minutes. What a drag.

any in canda yet?

Any Canadians find them in Apple Stores in Canada yet?

Vancouver has yet to get them....how long must I wait. They keep saying they don't know when they're getting them.

Can confirm that the Apple Store in the Galleria in Houston had them at about 4:15 p.m. today.

The employee I bought my MB from said that they received the shipment at about 2:30.
