Are unlocked iPhones not under contract no longer available?

On the iPhone website under FAQ it says you have to have a 2 yr contract and there are no more $599 & $699 iPhones on the best buy website.

Maybe they did this because people might buy a no contract iPhone, get an unlimited data plan, get the new iPhone under contract at the subsidized price, then return their iPhone 3G S.

Depends on the your carrier and there polices. AT&T has no policy to unlock iPhones in or out of contract. So again check with you carrier
