I remember reading before that there was precedent for updates happening outside of a Tuesday. Is this possible, or is it a hard and fast rule that Apple updates/new products are only released on Tuesdays?

I am, of course, thinking about the elusive MBP...

Usually, products are released on Tuesdays for Apple. I'm sure its not out of the possibility for them to release on other days, but I'm thinking the MBPs are not going to be any different than the norm.

its so they can ship the stuff to them over night and they can have it tuesday morning

thats why all of your DVDs and stuff like that are always released on tuesdays, so they can get the deliveries throught the day on monday

Thanks!

Thanks to all for the historical perspective... I have a really bad case of MBP update fever and I'm grasping at straws...

This is not always true, I'm a manager at Wal-Mart and we almost always have all of our new release dvd's in a week, sometimes a month in advance.
