Are voice messages on imessage auto stored in iCloud?

I do voice messages to my friends on iMessage.... and I would not want that stored in my iCloud and taking up all the space.

Check the settings for messages, I think there is a setting to have these expire after like 2 minutes, that does the trick.

Yeah, I know about that trick, but my question is do the audio messages get saved to the icloud in the first place?

I believe if you set it to retain them then yes, everything in your messages should be included in that backup.
