'Ol Smokey, UK
the title says it all. Basically i just bought a hd tv (19") for my room at uni, and am wondering whether it is worth me buying the component cables? My concern comes because here in the uk, pal is at 578i, whereas component is 480p, and so surely the lower resolution would result in a worse picture? does anyone from the uk have any advice?

Running your Wii at 480p PAL50 or PAL60 via component is going to look a lot nicer than running it at 576i PAL50 via composite. You will not notice the drop in resolution at all, all you are going to notice is a lot clearer picture with much brighter colours.

I'm running mine at 576i at the moment, but I'd prefer the 60fps achievable through component any day.
