In the past, I would uncharge my new iPhone's the first cycle untill about 5% and then charge back to 100%.
Now with the new 7 I just started using it after the initial set up, use it and charge whenever I feel I want to.

Is it still necessary to use it and uncharge it to about 5% and then full charge it back to 100% or is it okay nowadays to charge it whenever it suits you.
For example; I have my new 7 now for about 3 days, I simply charge it overnight, so I can use it the full day ahead.

I usually charge whenever I need to. I never let it go below 40%. I've done this in the past and never had any battery problems.

When you run the battery health app on iOS and get 0% wear. :):):)

Yeah, not necessary. Only good it can do is possibly improve calibration for battery life readings, but it's not going to affect the overall health or last of a charge.
