Are you getting AppleCare+ for your New iPhone 15 ProMax?

I ordered White PM for my wife and Natural PM for me. Both are 256GB and both have AppleCare+.

Never got applecare+. Imo it’s a ridiculously priced insurance product. Insurance for my watch which has a lot higher risks to theft/damage is only 0.5% of its value a year. For an iPhone 15 pro max apple care plus is 200 and with theft protection almost 300 for 2 years. That’s almost 10% of the product purchase price a year and probably a lot higher percentage of product value considering depreciation.

You are basically paying for people destroying their phone to get a new one to resell before upgrading.

I haven't had it in the past for all my previous iPhones, but I financed this year with Apple card, so I added it. If I decide I don't want to continue, I will just cancel it.

I got AppleCare+ on my refurbished 12 Pro Max because after years of desperation trying iPhone 11, SE3, 12 mini, 13 Pro, 14 Pro Max it is the ONLY iPhone I can use without incurring some kind of serious neurological issue. Yes, even the LCD iPhones cause me problems.

So I want to ensure I can have it repaired if need be and that the repair will not be outrageously expensive.

If it turns out I can use the 15 Pro Max in good health, then I’ll add Apple Care to it because there’s a strong possibility I would want to stay with it for a couple of years if there are no other concerning issues with it.

Always self insured my own phones but ordered AC+ for the kids. Daughter had to have her 13PM replaced twice in the last year due to accidental drops, even though it’s in a good case. Decided to finally AC+ it for my 15PM, will try going caseless for the first time in my life.

Insure yourself?

AppleCare+ is great. I paid $100 for a brand new replacement of my 13 Pro, no hassle at all, after dropping it and scuffing the corners bad, with a couple deep scratches on the screen that were really bugging me. Much better than paying $1200+ for a replacement. Bonus: battery life back to 100%.

The only reason I’m not getting it is because I have T-Mobile insurance solely for the Jump yearly upgrades. My partner’s pink 15 will have AC+.

I insure against catastrophic loss. A phone isn’t catastrophic. I’ve never lost or broken one, and I’ve been an iPhone user since day one. The money I’ve saved pays for a new one.

This is the first of two things people should look at when deciding to get AppleCare or any insurance. Would you have a problem replacing the device if you broke it. If you can pay $1200 without any financial concern then you probably don’t need AppleCare

I’ve never lost or broken one
This is the second factor. What kind of risk is there. If you never damage or break your electronic devices, then it’s probably not worth getting insurance.
