Wanted to see if anyone else noticed the lack of 3G in the NYC area today. I mostly have wifi enabled but noticed that my iphone was picking up Edge today instead of 3G which has never been a problem before and considering I'm in midtown manhattan I assume the 3G coverage is pretty decent here.

I'm on 3G right now.

It's the phone radio that's crappy.

There are probably around 30 cell towers where ever you stand in Manhattan.

Working ok here, east teens.

Sometimes if I get stuck on Edge I toggle 3G on/off and it usually comes back.

It's picking it up again, guess it was just a random glitch, thanks for the input!

i was at the 5th ave Apple Store on tuesday and had 3G turned on and one minute had full bars 3G and the next minute Edge with full bars and it stayed on Edge for a couple minutes. Even when my phone was on 3G the loading of web pages was sub-par.

Hmm maybe some of the towers in midtown manhattan were having issues, my office is near grand central so within the same range of the apple store, as of 3 pm today though the 3G is back although still not as fast as apple claims it to be in their tv commercials lol
