I am, for my parents.

They are constantly talking about getting one.

And possibly another for my in-laws. :O
 
When do pre-orders start? Says on apple's website they start shipping march 11th. Does this mean that stores will have them available for purchase on 3/11?

this is what it says on the site

Order starting March 11 and get free, fast shipping.
 
just spoke with an online rep:

"The iPad 2 is not available for pre order. It will be available on March 11th."
 
That sucks so bad it's not even funny. I'll have to stand in line all day long (and take a vacation day) for there to be any hope at all of getting one.
 
No preordering = Guaranteed ClusterF*. Clearly Apple wants the lines. I confess I'll be there but I'm not proud of it.

It also clearly states that on the website.

They definitely want lines for this.

WTF is up with no pre-ordering? Absolutely ridiculous.
 
I don't queue up for technology. So I guess I'll get mine a few days later than other people.

It was enough to make me order.. and be glad I sold my ipad yesterday.

They couldn't make enough to do pre-orders and stock all stores. They decided having the stores be full was more important.

Proabably a smart choice.

If they really are shiftings everythign that way then it might be better than the phones. You can probably go after work and get one without the early lines like you had to do with the first few iPhone launches.

I'm gonna try that and, if it fails, I'll order online and wait the few weeks. Not worth getting up super early for a long line.

Don't be so naive - they want the cluster. They didn't get one with the iphone 4 so they are not letting people preorder.

Not too happy to be manipulated like this, but I guess I'll be ordering online when its available.
 
No. I am not pre-ordering because you won't get one until like 3/20...

This tells me that apple doesn't have enough units or they want to see the lines outside of apple stores.

I will decide as soon as I make up my minds about white or black one.
 
I don't get why they wouldn't have a pre-order, so you can get yours on the 11th, it doesn't make sense to me that Apple would make you wait a few days once your order on the 11th rather than having a pre-order where it will be delivered on the 11th, maybe well get more info later this week
