I purchased the new Time Capsule last week and have been noticing much better wireless speeds with all my devices. Signal strength isn't necessarily better but I've noticed that my iPad, iPhone and Macbook Pro are running the same speed as my wired connection to my iMac. Nice!

are you sure? i have for the moment an 50Mbs internet from the provider so..wired i have 40 to 50 mbs, but with my iMac or iPhone/ipad/macbook i have around 15-30 mbs. But i don't have an apple TC

Yep. I have 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload service from my ISP and see full speeds on my iPhone sitting about 30 feet away from the TC.

If the new antenna design improves the signal strength of 802.11 a/b/g/n, even devices without 802.11ac could theoretically see improvements. IMO.

As eager as I was for a APE w/ AC I will wait until their are refurb ones from Apple and/or iPhone 5S/iPad Mini 2 with WiFi AC

I have a rMBP, so I have wireless N. I'm not using AC. But bandwidth seems more reliable, especially over LAN. Also, range is improved.

I replaced a 5 yr old n Cisco with thr new Extreme and my 2012 mbp increased from 10-15 mb to 50-70mb

That's pretty much what I was thinking. Apple did something to improve throughput on non 802.11ac devices. Antenna design? Other internal improvements? Who knows, but the performance is definitely better.

niiiice, i have on my imac with a d-link router average of 16-20 mbs from 50mbs. So maybe when i will replace the d-link with these time capsule i will have over 20-25 mbs

have a 100/20 connection

On my old time capsule i would get around 60-65mbps down via wireless on my '12 macbook air.

on the new one here's what i'm getting:

Replaced TC and express with new TC and extreme towers. Definitely better signal strength everywhere.

so i have at home an imac, macbook all 2012 connected through wifi to a d-link. i get somehow an average 20mbs from a 50mbs connection. i understand that if i go with the new time capsule i will get more speed?

so best whithout any ac wifi capabilities. but i now ask you if you are standing next to your airport extreme

It's likely you will but of course if you don't, you can always take it back.
