My mbp just crashed for the first time, twice, while doing the same thing. I was trying to resize an image in HP Image Edit, and as soon as I hit "save as" the comp froze. I could move the mouse but nothing on the desktop was active. I couldn't click on anything so I forced a power shutdown twice.

I just installed a program to manage fonts (You can still see the thread near the top of the OSX page) But that couldn't be what's causing it, right?

Any suggestions? This is scaring me because I'm a new user and I've been incredibly impressed with the stability of the OS.

Use Photoshop? :p

On a more serious note, but along those lines, I've found HP Image Edit, and the whole scanner software suite (I'm assuming that's where you installed it from), an unreliable piece of crap. It's probably made somewhat worse by the fact you'll be using it through Rosetta.

I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly why it would be happening, but I've personally never had anything other than trouble with those apps.
