Arggggg.... I lost ALL my sent mail

I've lost all my sent mail!

I deleted my account and poof all the mail i've ever sent disappeared!

they're not even in my trash can! Any ideas on how i might get them back?

is it in the mail folder? if not then they are probably gone

another reason to backup frequently

It shows how obtuse apple can sometimes be in their design - deleteing an account means all the email needs to go? its just plain stupid. I back up once a month - but i'd like to still have all this months email back!

sorry for the question but when you delete your account does it delete the user folder?

If so then of course it would delete email because they are only in the User folder

it deletes the account folder - where all the sent email is presumably saved.

All my recieved email is still ok - but only becasue i moved it into seperate organized folders.

That's because "Unix" always makes the assumption that you know what you're doing. You deleted your account.

No i deleted a mail account. Not a user account - in pine a unix based mail system i can set up retrieval and even if i delete the retreaval acount the mail remains. As long as i don't delete my main user off the system all email retrieved and sent stay in the mail system account.

Plus this doesn't happen with the thunderbird, eudora, entourage, outlook and the other email clients that i'm aware of.

browsing the web -it seems as though i'm not the only one caught out by this.
