Maybe I am daft... No check that, I am.
but if I have an external monitor attached how do I make sure it has the menu bar? I saw I could move it through display preferences, but what if its not attached? Is OS X smart enough to give the menu bar back to the laptop?
What I am aiming for is this, run the MBP lid closed (or at least its display off) when an external monitor is attached. Currently when I close the lid it sleeps.
Can Spaces assign an affinity to a monitor? If so I might be able to use that.
Edit:
I read I can close the lid then wake it up... does that work? (I am in process of setting up new comp area so it ain't connected)

Maybe if I search official sites I'd would not ask dumb questions
