New Homekit user. I’m using it to integrate Arlo outdoor cameras, Hunter-Douglas shades, Meross light switches, and indoor cameras and sensors (probably will use Aqara). I have no idea what I‘m doing at this point, but I have to say that it’s been pretty easy going so far.

I’m using an Arlo doorbell and outside cameras. I started with Eufy but had setup problems and sent them back. Arlo cameras don’t fully integrate with Homekit. I’m running the Arlo devices into the Arlo basestation and am doing most Arlo things with the Arlo app. I’ll use Homekit to do live camera viewing and to set up automations that work off the Arlo motion sensors.

Here’s my problem. I want the doorbell motion sensor/camera on 24x7. I want the other cameras to be individually scheduled, and inactive during the day. If I open the Arlo app and select Mode it brings up the basestation, and I see no way to select an individual camera - just the basestation. So, near as I can tell, my only choice is to schedule the basestation, which means that all devices get the same schedule. Not what I need, since I want the doorbell to operate 24x7.

Is it actually the case that the Arlo app doesn’t allow individual cameras schedules if they are connected to the Arlo basestation?

If you want to do it all with HomeKit, you might want to check out homebridge to get your Arlo gear to work natively. Maybe then you can manage the schedules more easily.

I have the Arlo baby (native HomeKit) and what a POS it has been, just terrible. I’ve had a 100% better experience with cheap eufy cams at a quarter of the price.

Thanks. I don’t know anything about Homebridge, I’ll read about it.

I couldn’t get the Eufy system off the ground, so I sent it back. So far the Arlo cameras seem fine but I’ve only got a few days on them. I won’t use Arlo inside cameras due to privacy concerns.
