The anti-glare coating on my progressive lenses has been coming off for the last year or so, making my lenses blurry in places. It started getting bad enough to affect my work late last year.

But I've been waiting to try Armour Etch as the solution to removing the coating until I could afford new glasses (which we got ordered last week). In the meantime, I've been dealing with old pairs of glasses that have a variety of the same problem. Finally tried the solution this morning.

Took the coating(s) right off! There is some scratching and other slight marks, but those I have to attribute to the fact that these glasses are 5-6 years old. Previously, I had made attempts with other less volatile chemicals (alcohol, vinegar) but they only succeeded in making the lenses foggy.

Armour Etch will work as a solution for this only on plastic (polycarbonite) lenses (which I have). Do NOT try this on actual glass lenses or you'll get a nice frosted over look you can't see through.

For anyone on the fence about trying this - it works.
