Arnold Palmer has passed away at the age of 87, according to the USGA and Golf Digest.

Palmer won 62 times on the PGA Tour, including seven major championships and four Masters during his illustrious career. He had been in declining health for a few years and even missed out on the ceremonial first tee shot at Augusta earlier in 2016.

This is Earth-shattering news ahead of next week's Ryder Cup. Palmer is one of the greats the sport has ever seen and will forever be beloved by millions of sports fans.

Palmer is well-known as a trailblazer who helped golf enter the national conversation. From his "army" of fans to the popular drink that bears his name, Arnold Palmer is known by those young and old.

There has never been a better ambassador for a sport than Arnold Palmer. A truly wonderful and humble man. Today's spoiled athletes could learn a lot by taking a look at his life. "The King" will be missed. RIP, Arnold.

What a wonderful person and a great golfer.

Great man of integrity and one of the best golfers of all time. Not just in his game, but the man overall.

Many lessons can be learned from his life, especially for athletes. all around class.
