Hey guys, I am looking to buy a new MacBook as a college student, but if the free headphones event is soon I am debating waiting for it. Have there been any rumors or leaks suggesting that its soon/what headphones could be offered?

Around when does Apple launch their Back to School event? Any clue when it could pop up this year?

It had started early-mid July the past few years. Probably Beats again, but no one knows for sure.
Australia had a back-to-school event at the beginning of this year (which is when our school year starts), and they did free Beats headphones (various models), but definitely did NOT have AirPods, which was disappointing. If they had of had AirPods I would have bought a MacBook pro, but instead I have decided to wait. My guess is that it will be similar in the USA for their Back-to-School promo.
Definitely wait. That's what I am doing. I have the 2015 MBA and have decided to upgrade to the base model $1199 MBP ($1299-100 for students' pricing). I am waiting for the offer so that maybe I can sell the beats for like half the price since I have my own headphones so that I'd get another kind of discount on my purchase
