(Arranging folders) please help..!!

i m arranging my folders in the Applications folder, and when i close the folder, or do something, it is changing its self... everything is just mixing up.. i really donno what shuld i do them to keep in order, please help.. actually, this is not a big topic, but help is help.. i think many apps and folders in Applications folder can effect it, but i might wrong.. tahnks in advance..

thanks swifttaw, but it is even not in alphabetical order.. it is totally something different, not in label oreder, not in date order.. even some folders and apps are not on the order's line, i mean scattered... i m checking "Show View Options", but doesnt make sens..when i arrange them, then when i open an app, it is just mixxing up..

So you're talking about icon view then. Icons should stay exactly where your drop them unless you use the Arrange by menu function in which case they'll be placed in a grid pattern sorted by the appropriate criteria

Perhaps you can take a screenshot to demonstrate what you mean

yes, sorry i didnt mention it.. about icon view.. i m droping where i want, i guess my folders options are ok, too... still i donno.. here is the pic of situation.. thank you swiftaw..

Yeah, you just need to do View->Arrange By and it'll tidy that up.

yeah i know man how to arrange... but my problem is starting from there.. i did thousond times, but still when i close the window, it is mixing up again.. when i open a game, or an app, it is just dispersing... that is why, i dont know what should i do.. this is something totally different.. but thank you for helping.. DOES ANYONE HOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THIS

I'm having exactly the same problem. My iTunes music folder sporadically changes itself. I go into it and right click >arrange by > name... everything is fine. UNTIL I go forward/back to another folder. When I open the music folder everything is crazy again... My folder is POSSESSED!!!!

Try deleting your Finder prefs file:

~user/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
