Arrrgghhh... how to control a PC and Mac in harmony?

I have a PC. I have a Mac G5. I want to control both by sharing the same monitor, mouse and keyboard. I bought this Belkin KVM switch thing but it doesn't work very well.

One of the main problems I have with the KVM switch ...

using the Mac keyboard - the numeric keypad ceases to work in Mac operations after a while

Has anybody figured out how to control a PC and Mac using the same peripherals?

HELP!?!?!
