I can't figure out why in the Artist page i have 2 Daft Punk, they have the exact names so shouldn't everything be categorized into one thing? I have 5 Albums and 4 of them are in one section and the 5th is in its own section.

Here is two screen shots of my iTunes list.

Artist directory 1 of Daft Punk includes:
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
Daft Punk - Daft Club
Daft Punk - Discovery
Daft Punk - Homework

Artist directory 2 of Daft Punk includes:
Daft Punk - Humans After All

Here is a screen shot from Homework:

So what changes do i need to make in my iTunes so that they are all in the same Artist thing.

Shoulda posted this in the iTunes forum...

Anyway, select all albums by Daft Punk, and either control-click or right click, choose 'Get Info'. Re-enter the same name in the artist AND album artist fields. Should work.

Sometimes, a name will appear exactly the same, but have some little menacing difference that isn't apparent, like an extra space in the name or something weird like that.

I'd say the best way to fix it is to go to one of the four correct albums, copy artist name, then paste that artist name for all tracks on the offending album.

I often get this. Like one guy said, it's best to select all, get info & then re-enter 'Daft Punk' - usually there is a space at the end of the name or something like that. Might be worth entering it in the 'album artist' box too.

By the way, you still need the "Alive '1997" album. ;)
