INFO - I'm a developer with a mid 2020 Intel Macbook Air 1.1 Ghz Quad Core i5 w/ 16GB Ram, working on a project that is much larger than 1 year ago when I started and now when I start the server (>ng serve) and I start making lots of edits, the machine fan will start spinning and if I make lots of changes all at once, the machine will slow down. I can see the process, coming from "mono" which is the C# extension by Omnisharp eating 120+% of my CPU. My environment is usually to start the server then start the debugger as well. So everytime I make a change to the code (client or server) everything gets re compiled and checked.

QUESTION - Is this an issue that can be remedied by getting the newer M1 Pro or M1 Max? And if so, will their CPUs both perform equally using VS Code or will the Max have a faster CPU score in geekbench, therefor helping me more with this issue?

FYI - I'ver searched lots of different forums looking for ways to prevent this C# extension from blowing up my machine and the only answers I can find is to upgrade to the latest version (done that) or look for entities that have properties with nullable types or nullable children. But that might not be a solution for me.

From my experience, the M1 macs are much more silent and performant than comparable laptops with Intel processors. I could very well imagine that you will be very happy with a M1 Pro or Max.

I bought the M1 Macbook Pro and have never heard the fan so far. To be honest, I am not even sure if a fan exists. :) But I have to admit that I haven't tested Angular development yet – only some basic programs on the go.
