Is there a simple syncing software I can use to keep email and contacts up to date between two or more Macs? I does not need to be wireless.

Can subscribe to an exchange account, and use entourage..

but that is about the same price as mobile me.

Thanks, but I`m hoping to find a way to do it machine to machine instead of via a web service (kind of like how a pocket PC will sync with Outlook). Is there any such option floating around?

You should use a web service even for machine-machine syncing so that you have an offsite backup. Using IMAP gmail allows you to sync your email and contacts between multiple machines and you always have a full backup on google's cloud.

Yeah, I use GMail for email, contacts, and calendars. Now that OS X and GMail support full two-way sync it's great. And if you have an iPhone, you can setup push sync of Contacts and Calendars to it via GMail too.

Are the instructions on how to do this on the Google site? I would like to do exactly what you mention including the syncing with the iPhone.

You can find the directions for Google IMAP email on their website.

As for the contact syncing, in Address Book (the app, not in Mail) under the Preferences you can enable Gmail syncing.
