I have my kids on my family share plan and have the "Ask to buy" turned on when they need to download apps. When I used to get requests on my iPhone 7 Plus, I could just use Touch ID to approve them. With iPhone X, it doesn't seem to be picking up Face ID and asking me to enter the password for my iCloud account every time. Anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

try this:

• go Settings-> Face ID & Passcode
• toggle off iTunes & App Store then turn it back on. (you'll enter your Apple ID password at this point)

it should work now in the situation you want it to (possibly requiring a double-press of the side button)

Thanks I will try this!

On a side note, is there a way to install apps without the double press of side button?

i don't really know right now.
some apps are installing without the double press.. some require it.

it's probably something to do with apps which are already tied to my account vs new apps i may be trying out? (or free vs paid?)

but yeah, i'm not sure..
i'll post back if i figure out the requirement system better.
