So, I have "ask to join networks" turned on.., but I hate getting the popups all the time.

I gather I can stop this by turning it off.

But.., the problem is that if I do that it will automatically connect to "Known Networks"

This would will often be a problem for me, in several circumstances that occur regularly.

Is there any way to _both_ not get the popups.., and not join known networks unless i choose to join them?

thanks.

Yes, there is. And it's in the app store.

I use WiFi Priority. The app lets you specify which networks have priority to join and you can also block auto joining (while leaving Auto Join on for those you DO want to auto join).

To join a network that you've 'blocked' with the app you just go into WiFi inside Settings and join the network (passwords are still remembered).

Once you leave that joined WiFi network and return to where it is again, it will 'block' it again.

I use WiFi Priority to have my phone auto join my WiFi network in my cars but it blocks anything else.

Hope that helps.
