hi guys... need some advice. what do u guys use to convert MP3 Bitrate without erasing its ID-Tag? I have a lot 320bps MP3 that i need to convert into 128bps, to save some of my HDD space.

Thanks!

oh? iTunes can convert an MP3 to another MP3 only to change the bitrate?

i didnt know that! i tought it can only import from CD Audio.
thanks for the info, will try it soon!

oh no....

iTunes can't really convert it. It creates a new MP3 files (with the same name plus -1 behind it) with the desired bitrate.

i need to only convert the bitrate without having to create a new MP3 file. is there a way to do that? because i have like.... well, 208.6 GB MP3 in total (thousands of MP3...)!

No there isn't and re-encoding MP3 to MP3 will have a dreadful effect on the sound quality. Infinitely preferable to rerip them from the source CDs or "reacquire" lower bit rate copies.
