I've had my MBP since Late 2008, it's a great computer but I don't need a laptop any longer. So, as much as it breaks my heart </3 I want to sell it. However I have no idea what a decent asking price is. So I ask this communities expertise. I'll follow with an "about this mac" screenshot. It has 8GB of RAM, a 750 GB Hybrid HDD, Maverick, and a battery and power cord that are both less than a year old. I'm in Canada (if that makes a difference :p).

Sorry if this isn't the right place to be asking, it seemed the most appropriate to me.

Thanks for any/all help.

That will probably fetch you about 500 or so in Canada :D
i'd put in on kijiji with a hive price like 575-600 and be prepared to bargain down, and wait. lots of waiting :D

I just sold my MBP 15 with 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD, Core 2 Duo 2.53 Ghz (from 2009) for $550 on Craigslist. I couldn't get any interest above $600. Mine was in pristine condition.
