I'm trying to open some .asp files that are supposed to open MS Excel.
I didn't have any troubles before opening them in MS Office 2008, but since I switched to Office 2011 they stopped opening properly.

The files are basically just xml ordering to open Excel and create some tables, etc.
When opened manually from within Excel it just shows the code, but it doesn't get executed. Trying to open them from inside Word does show the box where I'm supposed to enter my username and password at the remote server, but then starts to beachball like a madman and doesn't recover (even before I can enter anything).

Strangely when I open them from inside Office 2010 (in parallels) they still seem to work fine, so it does seem like an issue with my Office 2011 install.
Actually even TextEdit opens the files alright.
I've deleted the pref files in the library, deleted Office, repaired disk permissions and reinstalled Office again. But unfortunately to no avail.

Google and MRoogle weren't helpful either, so can someone please point me in the right direction to solve this? :)
