Hi, I'm trying to find out if Final Cut Server is suitable for 3D Asset Management.
To paint a more clearer picture, I'm starting an animation studio and I'll use Final Cut Studio as the main editing and color grading package and I am interested to find out if I can pool the multimedia assets and 3D assets in the same management software, meaning Final Cut Studio.
How does experienced studios handle this issue?

I kicked around FCSvr 1.0 for a while and although I can't speak specifically w/using it to manage 3D assets I felt that in general the app can be very powerful but it would a lot of time and effort (including custom coding) to take it from the big, generic mass that it is out of the box and sculpt it into something useful. The latest version of FCSvr is supposed to be a bit more user friendly but I haven't had a chance to play with it yet.

I'd check out CatDV as an alternative. I haven't used it personally but I've only heard good things about it.
