Assign Ringtone to a group

I thought this was possible with iOS 6.0 and above.

I have created groups in my address book and I want to assign a distinctive ringtone to people falling in those groups.

Currently, i have to edit each contact and assign that ringtone. Isn't there a way I can assign a ringtone to a group ?
