Assigning ringtones

I would like to assign different ringtones to different contacts such as mother, sister etc. When I go into the phone it shows the correct ringtone I want but when they call it just plays the default ringtone. Help please.

You do this in your contacts on the iPhone. Just go to All contacts>Mother>ringtone.
