About two weeks ago I changed my Apple ID. When I re-signed into iCloud, I went ahead and turned on Keychain, which I had not been using in the past on my Macs. I have, however, been using it on my iPhone and iPad. I rarely use Siri, but today when I used it to play a song on my iMac, I got the message "assistand wants to use your confidential information stored in "com.apple.assistant" in your keychain" and it asked me for a password and to Always Allow, Deny or Allow.

I have three Macs, an iMac, a Mac Mini and a Macbook Pro and this message is now popping up on all of them when I try to use Siri. I find it a bit weird since I have used Siri once or twice on my iMac since I changed my Apple ID, but did not get this message before. This just popped up today and now it pops up every time I try to use Siri.

Should I be worried or is this legit? Also, if this is legit, I have no idea what to put in for a password since it never asked me to set one up for keychain?

I think it is legit. I hardly ever use Siri on my Mac either. But I got this message too. Since I rarely use it I don’t know if it was the first release of High Sierra or a later one. The password is just your Mac user account password. I feel fairly confident I allowed it one time and then it asked for the password again another time. It seems like a bug to me just because who expects this or knows what it means?

When it comes to iCloud and Apple ID, Apple really couldn't make a bigger mess out of everything if they tried.

This is legit, you can enter your regular user account password to dismiss the message. It may pop-up again a few times, but eventually it'll stop. At least, it usually does.

I have entered my regular user password countless times, and the popup continues to appear incessantly.

[doublepost=1531005624][/doublepost]I have a "solution" to this. Don't use Siri.
