Updated my S4 to WatchOS 8 and the new features showed using hand gestures for assistive touch. I go to my settings and it’s not there. Any ideas?

Then why show it as a new feature if it’s not on the watch. I’m looking at my watch face, the new watch tips say the assistive touch is a new feature and how to enable it. I go to prefs and it’s not there on my watch.

Then it seems like a huge oversight to feature it with Tips on a unsupported watch.

I too got the “helpful” tip about Watch gestures. Looked all over my S4 Watch and Watch app settings before googling instructions and eventually came here. At least I’m not crazy.

Not to pile on Apple with hate, but this whole software release cycle has been a cluster. I haven’t had a lot of serious bugs as some have, but Apple does not seem to have its act together on just “polish” and “fit and finish” issues, which I don’t really recall in past.

Found it on Apple.com. Works on 6 and SE only. Wow that’s a big mistake to feature it in Tips on an unsupported device.

Apple’s own press release about this feature makes no mention of device limitations. Weird.
Right! Not even obvious when DuckDuckGo-ing (if that’s a verb). I was looking forward to using assistive touch but my S5 is fine and doesn’t need updating this time. Next year seem to be the better updates too.

I’m not sure all it can do but I was hoping for a way to dismiss notifications without touching the watch. Oh well.

Only feature I wanted and it’s missing from S5. Baaah. Apple shouldn’t show it as a tip then. Maybe I will get tips about new photography features like cinematic mode on my iPhone 7 then..
