Associated .xls with Neo office but icon reflects iWork trial?

I can open the xls in Neo office via double click, however the icon still says it's associated with iWork. How do I update the icon cache or whatever?

usually a restart or a repair permissions should do it.

however try getting info on the documents, select neo office under open with and then click change all.

I did all of this but none of it worked.

How about CMD+I then in the window that appears select the icon at the top and press backspace.
