Asus External Blu-Ray drive problems

i just purchased an external Asus SBW-06D2X-U and my computer isnt recognizing the drive. the box says that it is compatable with osx but even toast 11 isnt recognizing the drive, anyone know of a fix for this?

It is a laptop-style drive that gets its power from the USB source, and you probably need to connect both USB connectors to get enough power to be recognized. Or it may be defective. You can definitely do some more testing to find out the problem. Good luck.
