I just saw a review on the Asus laptop and what do u guys think to this? It might be nice hooked up to a nice 27" Screen

Hilarious video, I think ASUS makes great laptops, they have excellent 1-year accidental damage protection warranty..

The specs on that laptop are quite good, It'll outperform the entry level iMac under most circumstances, with the exception of gaming. It's on Amazon for $999, with the money you save you could invest on a high capacity SSD..

But depends If you don't mind using Windows 7 or 8, doubtful It'll run Mac OSX due to the GT 635M.. Also you do get an IPS display with the iMac..
