Hi everyone
I have a Mid-2010 mbp, and I need a new router.
I want to share a 2TB hdd via that router. I will use that shared hdd to download torrents directly to it, and stream those HD torrents to other laptops and eventually appletv. I'm deciding between Airport Extreme and Asus rt-n66u.
I'm inclined to buy the Asus router, from what i googled it seems faster for write/read and streaming. It's a bit cheaper too.

So these are my questions:
1. Will it be easy to access a shared hdd in Finder? Like Airdisk?
2. Do I need to mount it every time I start the computer?
3. Will uTorrent/Transmission work saving directly to the shared hdd?

Thanks

I think the ASUS has BT built in. No TM though.

Me I use a Synology NAS. TM, BT, Mac, Windows, Linux support. Tons of features. Any Dual band Gigabit Ethernet router will do. The high end Synology NASs can run PLEX.

Synology even has iOS apps, plus there is a really nice downloader plugin for Safari on OSX.

Your media is going to have to be in a format that the ATV wants. You'll also need iTunes running for Home Share to work.
