Asus rt-ac66u

Anybody have experience using the Asus rt-ac66u router on macs? Are there any compatibility issues? Any thoughts appreciated!

For the same $200, you can get the AirPort Extreme ac, which has great uptime.

Thanks. I was initially considering the time capsule, but seeing the extra features on the Asus (2 USB ports, AICloud,etc) and the great reviews, I have been leaning toward the Asus. Being able to access all my data from anywhere is huge. But how well does it work with the Mac?

I don't have the AC66U but I do have the N66U and it is the best router I've ever had. Incredibly stable. I'm using the Asuswrt-Merlin firmware and I'm certain there are others available. Range is excellent. Between two floors and a basement, I can maintain good signal strength and even in the garage on 5 GHz. Even if your willing to use 2.4 Ghz.

I don't use any of the AiCloud features so I'm not really able to speak on them.
