Hmm...I get the feeling Microsoft won't be selling the Surface for $199. It would totally screw their OEM's. And for all those who blame the OEM's for Microsoft's lack of success in the tablet space, well it wasn't until Windows 8 that Microsoft designed an operating system around touch so up until this point the OEM's haven't had much to work with.

That's just stupid.

How did all these manufactures sell computers in the past? How did they sell $999 machines when you had the MacBook Air next to it?

It amazes me how all these companies want to "beat" prices, but then there's no profit. It shouldn't be that you make a product at a price point the consumer WANTS to have it at, it should be that you're making a product the consumer WANTS to have.

The iPod isn't popular because of the price, it's popular because it's a "cool" product. The same is true about the iPad.
