Toward the bottom of this very Apple-esque product announcement is a "Universal Dock" with USB-C charging, USB 3.0 (2), HDMI, VGA, Ethernet, and SD card reader.

Assuming this is sold separately, and uses "standard" drivers for Ethernet, it might be the "perfect" dock MacBook owners have been looking for.

Shame we have to pry into Asus products list to find a ****in dockin...

VGA? Seriously? Could they not squeeze a parallel or SCSI port in there with it?

This is, to me, the most egregious flaw in the MacBook design - the single port. You spend a hundred bucks for a hub and it doesn't even have DisplayPort. No thanks.

I just got the ASUS Universal Dock.
The HDMI-Port doesn't work reliably with the new Late 2016 MacBook Pros. Rarely it works for a while, but most of the time, there's no picture or sound. It registers as a DisplayPort-Connection on the Mac though. I can't narrow the problem down.

USB, LAN, VGA and Power Delivery to the MacBook work, though.
