BTW while the speedtest server says Alpharetta, I did this test from where I live in Atlanta 30324

That's interesting and also not good. I don't understand AT&T's 5G coverage map. It says I'm supposeed to get 5G, but is it 5G or the fake 5G (5Ge) that I would be getting. They don't make a distinction on their coverage map. If I got the 12 I have no idea if I would be eligible for true 5G or not and don't really want to change my plan if I'm not.

Saw the same thing with Verizon in Atlanta on way to Tennessee. And I’m seeing same now in Tennessee. LTE seems. clearly faster than Verizon’s 5G.

Nationwide, AT&T 5G has been documented to be slower than their 4G service. But with time that should change

Guys it's been reported in a variety of places that AT&T 5G is probably slower than LTE in most places now. It's a technology worth having at some point. Just not now.

Reactions: Never mind
I can confirm that with Verizon with 5G nationwide.

Top number LTE outside

Bottom 5G nation wide

That bottom one is still LTE, not 5G on your image. Speedtest will show when it's 5G like mine does below with Verizon. It looks like Verizon is dumping you off on 3G not 5G, when you toggle 5G on.
