AT&T Approval email iphone unlock

Can someone clarify the following sentence included in the email from AT&T?:
'Please allow 24 hours upon receipt of this notification to complete the unlock'

Wait 24 hours from mail receipt to attempt the unlock procedure, or do it within 24 hours of receipt?
