I just went to my local mall and tried to get a new iphone 6 with At&t next upgrade. I don't know if these authorized dealers are actually safe to deal with. Im not exaggerating when I was told I HAVE to get this "free" LG tablet with a $10 a month plan to get a new iphone 6... apparently its a promotion. Anyone else find that shady?

Probably just a sales rep trying to close in on some more commission. Or trying to meet a quota, on a promotion THEY'RE having. Not AT&T.

Since it was a 3rd party, we can't really tell you.

But the guy refused to give me an iphone 6 if I didn't get the tablet

Your instincts to stay away were correct.
Anyone that's telling you that you must purchase or enroll to something you don't want should always be avoided.
And him telling you that you have to get that in order to get an iphone 6 is shady to say the least.

Should have reported him. That's like McDonald's saying you can't buy a Big Mac unless you buy the extra value meal.

Why would you go to the mall when you can go to an att store?

I have learned to never set foot in an "authorized dealer" store no matter what the reason. For any issues or purchases I go to an actual AT&T store, an Apple Store, even Best Buy, or I call 611. I know depending on your location you might not have all these options available, but if you do then take advantage of them.

Just a cash grab. Ask to talk to a manager. Threaten to report them to ATT and apple.
