I ve had an IPhone for 2 yrs and going to upgrade to the newest phone next week.

My wife has a non smart phone and has only had it for 3 months.

She wants to upgrade to the new IPhone.

What would be the cheapest way of doing this?

Will she be charged a cancelation fee to move to a contacted IPhone? Or will they allow you to upgrade to the smartphone due to the higher billing?

Would it be cheaper to add a line to my account and only have one bill or
for her to have her own bill?

If she's under contract she wont be able to upgrade to a full subsidy for the iphone. They might give her an early update price or charge her full price for the iphone.
You can always add another line also to get the iphone and then put her sim in the iphone.

The only way to do this is to give her your upgrade. But if you intend to upgrade yourself, she will be unable to upgrade for another 15mo.

What did AT&T say when you called them?
